Mt. Parker
T'boli South Cotabato
Located in the province of South Cotabato, 30 kilometers west of Gen. Santos City.

The volcanoe's name came from General Frank Parker ,after discovering it on a flight in 1934. The said General also led an expedition up to the mountain's crater with other US and Filipino  officials, including V-Gov.-Gen. Joseph Ralston Hayden and Governor Gutierrez, in the same year.

The elevation is 1,824 meters and an elevation of and a base diameter of 40 km.




Mt. Parker also known as Melibengoy, is a stratovolcano in T'boli, South Cotabato. It is considered an active volcano and has last erupted in 1641. It was named after an American pilot who is Gen.Frank Parker that crashed into the volcano while doing mapping and surveying in the region.
It has a crater lake named Lake Maughan but also officially called Lake Holon. Holon was another American pilot who was with Parker when he crashed.

The country's largest volcano and the highest mountain in the Visayas region.Its beauty came from its awesome forests, grasslands, waterfalls, and its mesmerizing peak views.But this awesome beauty hides a fearful activity.Because this volcano is the most active in the region.When it erupted on 1996 its activity had killed 7 mountaineers.Last 2008 it also release ashes from its crater.

Kanlaon came from the name La-on after a legend which means Exalted.This mountain is the deadliest hiking destination of the country.The tribes around the mountain says that the mountain is the center of the universe and the passageway to the unknown portals.

The name Kanlaon came from the tail of the La-on and the Seven Headed dragon, which epics how  La-on had save the daughter of the Datu from being sacrificed to the monster.After rescuing and winning the hand of the princess, the mountain where the monster came became the reward of the said brave young man named La-on later on Kanlaon

Mt. Matutum the Best Trek Ever

This volcano rises and dominates the landscape of the South Cotabato, Philippines.The irregular shape of this volcano rises and so mesmerizing that could invite viewers from afar to climb.Mt. Matutum is an active volcano rising to 2,293 Meters Above Sea Level and erupted last March 7, 1911.Its stunning beauty could give a relaxing view.

This volcano was located at the province of South Cotabato at the island of Mindanao, Philipiines. It is 15 km. north of the Municipality of Polomolok. It has a base of 25 km. and the 14th highest peak of the Philippines.It was the favorite trekking destination in the province that has well preserved summit and a vegetated crater.

The famous Philippine eagle and the small Tarsier could also be seen in the forested area of the mountain.

The Mt. Matutum name came from the words "Amyak Maleh" which means climb and plant of the indigenous Blaa'n trbe that resides around the mountain.

 1st Scout Ranger Regiment 

Under late AFP Vice-Chief Of Staff and Defense Secretary Rafael M. Ileto the Philippine 1st Scout Ranger Regiment has been formed on Nov. 25, 1950.

The Scout Ranger was formed after the famous Alamo Scouts and the U.S. Army Rangers.

During those times the Hukbalahap Guerrillas was on its peak and so on the named Regiment had been formed.
