Mt. Parker
T'boli South Cotabato
Located in the province of South Cotabato, 30 kilometers west of Gen. Santos City.
The volcanoe's name came from General
Frank Parker ,after discovering it on a flight in 1934. The said General also led an expedition
up to the mountain's crater with other US and
Filipino officials, including V-Gov.-Gen. Joseph
Ralston Hayden and Governor Gutierrez, in the same year.
The elevation is 1,824 meters and an elevation of and a base diameter of 40 km.
Mt. Parker also known as Melibengoy, is a stratovolcano in T'boli, South
Cotabato. It is considered an active volcano and
has last erupted in 1641. It was named after an American pilot who is Gen.Frank Parker that
crashed into the volcano while doing mapping and surveying in the region.
It has a crater lake named Lake Maughan but also officially
called Lake Holon. Holon was another American pilot who was with Parker when
he crashed.
